Colleen Culton, LCDC -Executive Director
Colleen Culton has worked in addictions counseling for almost 20 years and earned her credentials as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in 2000. She has extensive experience working with adults in both outpatient and residential treatment settings. Colleen’s approach to addictions counseling is founded on the belief that people can achieve long-term, positive change. Since 2009, she has worked in a supervisory capacity with both clinical and non-clinical staff.
Colleen recently completed studies for American Sign Language Interpreting at Austin Community College. One of her future goals is expanding service options for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing adults who struggle with the disease of addiction.
A lifetime bibliophile, Colleen can frequently be found immersed in the pages of a good book. Her other favorite activities include spending time with family and traveling.
Frederic J. Wilson, MD-Medical Director
Dr. Frederic J. Wilson is a licensed MD specializing in psychiatry. He is board certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and his specializations include Dual Diagnosis with co-occuring substance abuse and mental disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Behavioral Problems. He received his undergraduate degree at California Lutheran University and attended medical school at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. His General Psychiatry Residency was completed with the UT Southwestern Program in Austin. He has experience at a number of facilities including Seton Shoal Creek, University of Texas Mental Health Center, Austin State Hospital, Dell Children’s Medical Center, and more. Dr. Wilson utilizes a multidimensional approach to the mental health needs of Nova clients, incorporating biological, psychological, and social aspects into addiction treatment.
