Gabe Oliver, House Manager

What is your role at Eudaimonia Recovery Homes?

→ I have been granted the opportunity to be a house manager at Eudaimonia. This means I am responsible for holding up to 4 individuals accountable, with under 30 days clean, to the Eudaimonia standards.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

→ I especially enjoy our meditation and nightly groups! After practicing the daily reprieve as such for a longer period of time I got to experience sanity being returned, as the Big Book discusses. To have an opportunity to pass this solution to newcomers and then see that spark happen within them is just wonderful!

What three words would you use to describe Eudaimonia?

→ Community. Love. Home.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

→ Tacos

What is your hidden talent?

→ Organization and time management

If given a chance, which Marvel superhero would you be for a day?

→ Adam Warlock

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned thus far in your own recovery?

→ I don’t know anything.

What piece of advice would you give to someone else who is recovering from addiction?

→ If you’re someone who is sick and tired of being sick and tired and you want to make a change in your life; do so with honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness. With that, understand that there will be challenges ahead and inevitably you will fall short. Do not let that be the end all be all anymore but continue to persevere!
