Food, Fun, and Friends: Rustic Creek 4th of July Celebration

Table of Contents

The men of Eudaimonia’s Rustic Creek sober living apartment complex took on the 4th of July with a special celebration filled with food, fun, and a little friendly competition.

More than 50 sober living residents showed up for the event to enjoy grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and other snacks in good company. Some event-goers also participated in a quick basketball tournament where they had the chance to show off their skills.

The competition really heated up with a baked dessert contest, featuring delicious homemade sweets. The talented baker of a mouthwatering red velvet cake took home the prize: a $25 gift card.

The remaining food from the event hosted by Eudaimonia Recovery Homes was donated to a local food pantry.

For more information on upcoming events for current sober living residents and alumni, contact Alumni Coordinator, Kevin Cunningham at (512) 230-9103 or kevin.cunningham@novarecoverycenter.com.

This article focuses on Suboxone pills (tablets) and related forms like films or “strips,” and it explains how these products are taken for transmucosal absorption (through the mouth). It also covers dosing, common side effects, overdose risks, and pain control while on buprenorphine drugs. This is general information, not medical advice.

Active Addiction: Signs, Symptoms, and Next Steps

“Active addiction” is a common phrase. People often use it when alcohol or other drug use is ongoing and the person is not in stable recovery. In plain terms, it may look like repeated use that feels hard to control, keeps happening despite harm, or returns soon after trying to stop. In health care settings, professionals usually talk about substance use disorder (SUD). SUD describes a pattern of substance use that leads to health problems or problems at work, school, or home. SUD can range from mild to severe, and “addiction” is often used to describe the most severe end of that range.
