Although celebrating sober is a very different experience, many people in recovery find holiday events and celebrations to be even more fun and memorable this way.

Residents of our Austin, Texas sober living houses have plenty of opportunities to celebrate a sober St. Patrick’s Day. Here are some of the local St. Patrick’s Day events and activities going on in Austin this year.

Described as an “authentic display of Irish culture and pride,” Austin’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration features live, local entertainment from Celtic musicians, delicious Irish food and drink, and fun, family-friendly activities that anyone can enjoy. Although there will be alcoholic beverages on-site, this event does not revolve around drinking and there are plenty of other fun ways to spend your time there with friends or family this St. Patrick’s Day.

Looking for a unique and fun way to spend your St. Patrick’s Day this year? Doc’s Drive-In Theatre in Buda is hosting an old-fashioned St. Patrick’s Day celebration for the whole family. Watch a movie drive-in style and then crash for the night in one of the venue’s cute movie-themed tiny homes in Weewok Village, just next door to the drive-in theater.

Houston’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade is a free event and one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the nation. The event will also feature an award ceremony and afterparty in Market Square after the parade. A fun way to kick off St. Patrick’s Day, this event is also an awesome opportunity to explore downtown Houston if you haven’t already.
